Game Designer and VR Developer

About Me

When I was 3 years old I got an Atari 2600. Soon after my goal in life was to make video games.

My next system was an Apple IIc. I learned how to program BASIC on this computer. Around this time I spent mass quantities of my money on RPGs, mostly just reading through them and absorbing the rules. The NES was next, quickly followed by the Sega Master System, Gameboy, and Amiga. The Amiga opened up a new world of online communication and gameplay once I got my 300 baud modem. I finally jumped into the PC world with a 486 around the time I went to college.

I attended Florida State University and received a BS in Computer Science. After graduating, I landed a job at Blam! as a programmer in 1999. Soon thereafter I switched to a focus on design and worked at 3do, Shaba, and Factor 5 - all companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2008, I moved to Boston to work at Harmonix. In 2012 I moved to Seattle. I spent a little over four years working as a lead designer at PopCap games.

The past few years I've been working in VR. First I was at PlutoVR after which I did a bit of contracting. I am currently working at Oculus/Facebook.
